My colleague and I was trying to convince Kelvin that he should get an iMac (or MBP/MBA).
Instead, I am convinced that I needed an iMac myself. LOL.
Only dilemma was 21” v.s. 27”. Found out about TDM (Target Display Mode) and that’s the deal-breaker man - 27” it is then!
Currently, I am using 5” phablet, 7” mini tablet and 15” mid-size laptop.
There is too much overlap and I found myself underutilising my Samsung Note (had been using it purely for whatsapp and calling only, since I got my iPad Mini). I love the weight and size of iPad Mini hence phablet has to go.
By acquiring an iMac soon, I can shift my heavier tasks (creation part) onto it. With that, I could lower the computing power requirement of my on-the-go laptop for use in office & during business commute/meet.
Eventually, I’ll be using 3.5” phone for 24/7, 7” mini tablet for on-the-go digital consumption (in bedroom, restaurants, while waiting, etc), 13” macbook air for office work (or on-the-go business meet, etc) and 27” desktop for productive digital creation in living room.
Conclusion
My acquisition plan is as following:
2011 - MBP (My first Apple)
2012 - Samsung Note (one)
2013 - iPad Mini (Lucky draw, hehe)
= = = = today = = = =
2013 - iMac 27” (low spec)
2014/15 - iPhone
2014/15 - MBA (Replacement of MBP)
2017 - iMac 27” (Replacement of desktop + setup of dual display!)
That’s a 2-3 years cycle for replacement of phone, 3-4 years for laptop and 4 years for desktop. Seems good, no?

^ Taken during the final leg of our epic (train) tour from Milan to Geneva - a scenic train ride from Interlaken to Geneva. Prior to this, we were at Interlaken, which was amazing. The scenery, the small 民宿, the laughters - I’ll never forget those experiences.
Had a relationship/emotion centric conversation with a dear friend last night, something which I haven’t done for quite a long while.
In the midst of my ‘busy’ life ( to adapt to new work life, to work towards new goals), somehow, I started to avoid a lot of important questions.
It had me thinking.

Am I heading towards the right direction?

Note: Editing and writing this over lunch time, which I started spending more and more in the office (alone). Does this partly due to my new healthy eating regime. So yea, from now, whenever I eat (alone) in the office, I’ll try to blog a little bit, reflect a little bit.

Angela Strassheim - Evidence

Evidence is a group of photographs taken at homes where familial homicides have occurred. Long after the struggles have ended in these spaces, despite the cleaning, repainting and subsequent re-habitation of these homes, the “Blue Star” solution activates the physical memory of blood through its contact with the remaining DNA proteins on the walls. The black and white images are long exposures – from ten minutes to one hour – with minimal ambient night light pouring in from the crevices of windows and doors, capturing the physical presence of blood as a lurid glow.

Sad yet beautiful…
